A new semester has begun, and new members have joined Pharos. The new international reporters are Asuka from Japan, Jowie from Malaysia, and Maël from France. This edition of Pharos News will cover meetings with these new international reporters.

 On September 10, we had our first meeting with the international reporters at the Pharos office. During this meeting, we prepared and shared “candy salad,” a dish that is particularly popular among Gen Z in the U.S., along with various snacks that we had brought in advance. This provided an opportunity for us to get to know each other through brief self-introductions. Subsequently, we relocated to a different venue where we enjoyed our first dinner, during which time we welcomed the newcomers by discussing Korean fried chicken, which highlights the rich flavors of Korea.

 As the international reporters have recently joined Pharos, we are looking forward to collaborating with them. The sections of Pharos which feature international reporters include KGU Talk, Cover Story, Society, Review, Culture, Music, Sports, and English Tips. Since the international reporters select their sections, they have been able to engage more deeply in the writing process, as their interests are reflected in their contributions.

 All three international reporters initially harbored vague fears about writing articles on unfamiliar subjects. Nevertheless, they supported one another and overcame their anxieties. Pharos extends a warm welcome to the international reporters who courageously challenge themselves to participate in meaningful activities at Kyonggi University.

 This magazine issue number 146 has grown one step further in cooperation with the international reporters. We invite you to appreciate the new perspectives and developments it presents.
