Half of 2024 has passed, and the second semester is coming. How was the first half of your year? Some of you might have faced exciting new beginnings, worked hard towards your goals, or taken some time to rest and refresh. At Pharos, we have also been working hard to bring joy to readers during the first half of 2024. Here is a look back on our past six months together.
First and foremost, we published Pharos issue 144 in the first semester of 2024. It was particularly meaningful as we worked with five new reporters. It focused on the ongoing issue of low birth rates in addition to a variety of interesting articles. For example, we had an article explaining Korean shamanism through the movie Exhuma, an article which introduced the craft shops in Haenggung-dong, and an article examining students' expectations and hopes for the spring festival. The design of the issue also received a positive response, so we kicked off 2024 with an energetic start.
Next, we cannot forget the spring festival. Despite being assigned to a remote booth location, we were able to sell out our Pikachu cutlets on the first day thanks to your support. Over the three days of the festival, we encountered various situations that enhanced teamwork among our members. Additionally, we created memorable experiences for all by appearing in Yoo Hee-kwan’s Goosok-Wang program on YouTube.
We finished up the semester with membership training, where we held meetings about issue 145, did some recreational activities, and had a barbecue, bringing our members closer together. It was a time to reflect on our successful semester by enjoying conversation and fun throughout the night.
Aside from the aforementioned events, we also conducted various activities, such as card news and quizzes. In the next semester, we will continue to bring you valuable and interesting content.
