To get to Lecture Hall 5, should I get off at the back gate or Gwanggyo Station?” “I take a lecture in Engineering Building 2, so where is the most convenient place to get off among the front gate, back gate, and Gwanggyo station?” “Please tell me the shortcut from the back gate to the General Lecture Hall.” These are the hailstorm of questions every year on Everytime, an application for university students. For freshmen in 2024 and students who only took non-face-to-face lectures during the COVID-19 pandemic, it might be difficult to navigate the complex campus of Kyonggi University. For your convenience, and to answer these common questions, Pharos will explain the shortcuts around Kyonggi University.
From the Student Hall to Lecture Halls 4 and 5
Students of Kyonggi University spend most of their lunch time or time in-between classes in the Student Hall. There are many students who take an afternoon class after taking a break there. Among the many lecture halls, Pharos would like to introduce a shortcut to Lecture Halls 4 and 5. Most of the students move to the Central Library or General Lecture Hall, but in doing so, the uphill climb is severe and it takes a relatively long time. It is inconvenient in both the hot summer and the cold winter. The shortcut to solve this problem is through Gamsung Core, which is in the middle of the two places. After coming out of the first floor of the student hall and passing the basketball and futsal courts, you can see Gamsung Core, one of the school cafeterias. Next to it, there is a narrow road and after passing through it, you are directly connected to the first floor of Lecture Hall 4. If you have a class in Lecture Hall 4, you can arrive quickly and easily. Next, if you arrive at Lecture Hall 4 in this way and go out the exit, you can see the way to Lecture Hall 5. I personally measured the time at 5 minutes and 6 seconds to get to Lecture Hall 4, and about 2 additional minutes to Lecture Hall 5. It is much more efficient than going around the Central Library or the General Lecture Hall.
From the Main Gate to Gwanggyo Station
Students primarily use the Main Gate and Gwanggyo Station for their daily commute. Between the Main Gate and Gwanggyo Station, significant buildings such as the General Lecture Hall, and the Central Library have been constructed. Hence, the path is intricate and takes a long time to traverse. Most students often travel from the Main Gate to Gwanggyo Station through the Central Library and then to the Back Gate to reach Gwanggyo Station. However, if you use the stairs at the Welfare Center Hall and take the ‘Turtle Side Road’ the middle gate of Kyonggi University, you can reduce travel time. If you go down the stairs of the Welfare Center with a view of the ‘Sinhan Bank’ after passing the Teleconvention Center, you can reach the first floor by taking the elevator in the Student Center. After passing the basketball and futsal court, continue up a hill to find the General Lecture Hall on the right. If you continue straight along the sidewalk, you will reach ‘Turtle Side Road.’ As a result of direct time measurement, it takes about 15 minutes and 19 seconds to travel from the Main Gate to Gwanggyo Station. It can be seen much shorter than taking about 30 minutes to reach Gwanggyo Station through the Back Gate.
Gwanggyo Station vs. the Back Gate Bus Station to reach the General Lecture Hall?
As many basic liberal arts courses have been offered in the General Lecture Hall this year, freshmen tend to visit the hall more often. The General Lecture Hall is located between Gwanggyo Station and the Back Gate Bus Station. Therefore, Pharos has tried to determine which of the two locations is closer to the General Lecture Hall. At Gwanggyo Station, you can conveniently reach the General Lecture Hall by using the ‘Turtle Side Road,’ which is located at the middle gate of Kyonggi University. After getting off at Gwanggyo Station, follow the sign that reads “The fastest way to Kyonggi University” around the corner of the Starbucks building and proceed through the Turtle Side Road. Next, from the Back Gate Bus Station, you can reach the General Lecture Hall by crossing the stone steps across the parking lot, climbing the hill, following the road to the left, turning right, and continuing along the road all the way.It takes 11 minutes and 3 seconds to travel from Gwanggyo Station to the General Lecture Hall, and about 10 minutes and 41 seconds from the Back Gate Bus Station to the General Lecture Hall. Therefore, it can be confirmed that the time from the Back Gate Bus Station to the General Lecture Hall is shorter.
Now you can enjoy your college life at Kyonggi University with the convenient
information and shortcuts introduced by Pharos. There’s a saying that goes, “Time is the most valuable thing that people can use.” Now, freshmen and students in the COVID-19 era will no longer spend valuable time wandering the streets during school hours. You can save time and physical strength with a little information and lead an efficient school life that lets you invest more in your studies.
