In March 2023, UN-LIMIT, the Department of Engineering student council, proposed an updated Kyonggi school jacket, hoodie and fleece. These are available for purchase not only for students of engineering but also for students of other departments. Also, since there were so many students who requested school jackets, it attracted the attention of both freshman and upper-classmen. Through interviews with the UN-LIMIT student council, Pharos would like to introduce the updated school jacket, focusing on the planning, production process, and difficulties. 

 First, Pharos interviewed the head of promotion, Kim Iseok, who suggested and planned the updated school jacket.

Q Please explain how the school jacket was designed and how it was distributed to students.

A First of all, after devising the design of the school jacket, we created a form to conduct a demand survey. We proceeded to confirm the deposit details and application details. Specifically, the design is based on last year's school jacket design, but the KGU logo was changed. Then we designed it as simple as possible, excluding individual preference. In addition, after a feedback process with the UN-LIMIT staff, I spent a week developing the design. After the project was completed, we conducted a survey on Google Forms and distributed it to students.

Q What were the most difficult aspects of the planning process?

A It was my first time being responsible for an entire project from beginning to end, and I think I felt much more responsibility because it was a project for all of the students at Kyonggi University, not just students in the Creative Engineering Department. In addition, there was a delivery problem for students at the Seoul Campus, and it was difficult to contact them individually because there were some students who deposited money but did not fill out the form.

Q Do you have anything to say to Kyonggi University students who are wearing a school jacket, fleece, or hoodie?

A It was my first project for all of the students at Kyonggi University, and there were some rough parts in the process of planning the school jacket, but I hope you will forgive us for these issues and enjoy the new jacket. 

 Next, we interviewed Yoo Izzy, the chairman of UN-LIMIT.

Q Hello, please introduce both yourself and UN-LIMIT.

A Hello. I'm Yoo Izzy. I’m a student in the Department of Civil Engineering, from the class of 2020, and I'm the president of the UN-LIMIT student council of the 39th Creative Engineering Department. UN-LIMIT has the slogan, “Beyond the limits of the engineering people,” as the word “Unlimit” suggests.

Q How did UN-LIMIT lead the production and planning of the new school jacket?

A During the student council activities, I saw there were a lot of students asking for a new school jacket. This year, the vice-chairman suggested that our student council take charge of producing a school jacket, and everyone agreed, so we proceeded with the production.

Q Please tell me how you helped the staff when producing the school jacket and what the most difficult part was.

A The production of the school jacket was conducted under the supervision of the head of promotion. As soon as we decided to take charge of the production of the school jacket, I began the process of creating it. During the process, we decided to order a fleece jacket and hoodie as well. After it was completed, we promoted the new jackets through the Everytime group chat room that our department uses, as well as through the kguunlimit.com website that we manage. Even if it was a bit challenging, I think it was a good experience to accomplish everything we set out to do. There were some problems, but we are all working happily! 

Q Please send a message to the Kyonggi University students who are wearing the school jacket.

A I hope you wear it before spring is over and make many memories on campus. It's an honor to be with you in your youth! As I said before, UN-LIMIT has the slogan, “Beyond the limits of engineering people.” Thank you to the students who are always interested, and we will continue to make an effort without limitations and develop the Creative Engineering Department. And beyond the Department of Creative Engineering, we support and hope for the unlimited development of Kyonggi University students! Love you UN-LIMIT!

 Lastly, Pharos interviewed a student majoring in Construction Systems, Department of Smart City Engineering who bought a school jacket. 

Q What made you buy a school jacket?

A I just had small wish to wear a school jacket. However, I couldn’t wear one before because I missed the opportunity to purchase one last year. Therefore, I decided to buy a school jacket made by UN-LIMIT to fulfill that wish. Why were you looking forward to buying a school jacket?I think it’s an all-around piece of outerwear that can go well with all types of clothing, and it can also spread the name of ‘Kyonggi University.’

 School jackets can give a sense of belonging as a student of Kyonggi University, and it’s very useful to wear in daily life. Most of the responses from other students were also positive. It seems that they can realize the dream of college life with a school jacket.
