Gwanggyo Lake Park, located in Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, is a hot place on social media. It boasts two lakes, Sindae Lake and Wonchun Lake, and there is a complex around it where you can enjoy various cultural activities. In particular, Gwanggyo Lake Park is a waterfront space that preserves the nature of the two lakes as much as possible, so it is a park that creates a natural atmosphere in the center of the city. This is one of the reasons why Gwanggyo Lake Park is a famous location for family outings, dating, and walking. Pharos would like to explore three representative places where anyone can enjoy the wonderful scenery of Gwanggyo Lake Park.

 The first location of Gwanggyo Lake Park is the Freiburg Observatory where you can take a rest while walking along the path. The original Freiburg Observatory is an observatory built in 1995 in Freiburg City Park in Freiburg, Germany, a global eco-friendly city. The observatory in Gwanggyo was opened in 2019 to commemorate the continued exchange and cooperation between Suwon City and Freiburg City. The Freiburg Observatory consists of a cafe on the first floor, an exhibition room on the second floor, a rest area on the third floor, and an observation deck on the fourth floor. At the cafe on the first floor, you can enjoy a cup of coffee while looking at the spacious blue lake. The exhibition hall on the second floor displays various photos of Freiburg City and Gwanggyo Lake Park, so it has the atmosphere of a small museum. The third floor is a rest area for people who are exhausted while going up to the observatory on the stairs. On the fourth floor, there is an observation deck 33 meters high, and you can see a panoramic view of Gwanggyo Lake Park from various angles. At night, it is a popular place to enjoy the beautiful night view with the lights of apartments and shopping districts near the lake park as a background.

 The second location is the Blue Forest Library. The Blue Forest Library opened in 2018 with the vision of Suwon City Library, which aims to become a place for Suwon citizens to share knowledge and communicate. Located on the first and second floors of the Blue Forest Library, the archives provide materials in various fields such as technology, society, and science, as well as various books and reading materials such as newspapers and magazines. In particular, the Blue Forest Library has the largest amount of welfare-related books among the Suwon City Libraries, so it is recommended for those who are eager to study the field of welfare. The third floor consists of a children's reading room and an infant reading room. The children's reading room and the infant reading room are for parents and children, and for the safety of children, there is a reading space with a mat.

 The final course is the Alleyway Gwanggyo, a shopping center located where you can see Gwanggyo Lake Park at a glance. This place is equipped with a playground for children, also it is possible to bring pets, so this place is available for families with children as well as those with pets. There are many stores, restaurants, and cafes in Alleyway Gwanggyo. In addition, this place is equipped with convenience facilities such as a picnic rental service, a children’s lounge, and a family lounge. Alleyway Gwanggyo also serves as a lifestyle center that creates a local community culture through various rental events. The lifestyle center is characterized by the higher proportion of cultural spaces than existing shopping centers. It is also representative of a new concept of next-generation shopping malls that focus more on experiencing something special in everyday life instead of just being spaces for purchasing products or services.

 Two other fun places are Seongsu Art Museum and Pim Underground. Seongsu Art Museum is the one and only drawing cafe in Korea. It is a novelty experience space for painting with acrylic paint on full-sized Kent paper. It is a nice place to make valuable memories because you can freely color with various tools and complete an entire work 

of art. Next, Pim Underground is a complex experience exhibition for children where all children’s actions become art. There are toys that children can play with, but there are also instruments to exercise children’s imaginations such as blocks, sponges, fabric, and pipes in Pim Underground. Since this place has no boundaries regarding playing, children can express themselves through play.
