Animation is not limited to young children. Animation teaches adults lessons and reminds them of childhood. Films by Disney, a global animation production company, have also been hugely successful in Korea. For example, the Frozen series recorded a grand record of more than 10 million spectators. One of Disney’s other works, Zootopia, is also a beloved animated film. Therefore, Pharos took the time to learn and find useful English expressions used in Zootopia.

Sentence- That’s the beauty of ~

Meaning- ~

- Here, ‘beauty’ means a good thing rather than beauty. It is an expression that is usually used to compliment.

Example) That’s the beauty of it.

Sentence- There’s never been a ~

Meaning-

- ‘There has been’ is a variant of ‘there is’. This means that it

has been like that from the past to the present.

Example) There’s never been a bunny cop.

Sentence- Amen to that.

- It’s a literal translation of “amen about it” but it’s very awkward. Christianity permeates many aspects of Western culture, including the English language, and some religious expressions are often used in everyday life but not in religious contexts. It is often used as a joke to strongly affirm the other person’s words.

Example) Amen to that. Carrot farming is a noble profession.

When foreign animated films are released in Korea, they can be dubbed or subtitled. English expressions in animation are usually easier and more pronounced than in other movie genres. Therefore, animated films can make for really good learning material. Also, it is so interesting that you might fall in love without realizing it. The expressions introduced today are useful in real life. Pharos recommends you to study them with interest.
