Suwon, Strolling Through TV DramaLocations. 이채은 기자 2025-05-07 23:34:14

Have you watched the TV drama that recently finished “Run AwayWith Sunjae?” This drama became very popular for its beautiful scenes and touching story. Its key scenes were filmed in Suwon, a city known for its historic Hwaseong Fortress and charming streets. Because of this, Suwon has been the background for many other dramas as well. Since Kyonggi University students will finish their midterm exams in May, we would like to introduce some famous drama filming locations in Suwon.

The first place is the Woo Young Woo Kimbap Restaurant from the drama “Extraordinary Attorney Woo.” In the show, Woo Young Woo’s father owns this kimbap restaurant, where she often eats kimbap. Today, it is called Seo Ho Kimbap, but the restaurant still looks the same as it did in the drama. Because of this, many fans still visit. If you go, you can try the kimbap that Woo Young Woo loved!

The second place is Haenggung Party, which appeared in the drama “Our Beloved Summer.” In this show, it was the home of the main character, Choi Woong, and it was an important place where the two main characters shared their emotions. It used to be a café, but now it is a tourist attraction with murals from the drama. Haenggung Party is a special place where old and new styles come together. Why not visit and experience the atmosphere of “Our Beloved Summer” in real life?

The next filming location to visit is the cafe shown in the drama “The Law Cafe,” where the heroine worked. Currently, this place operates under the name “Cafe Booter.” The rooftop apartment where the heroine lived has been transformed into a spacious rooftop terrace, and the basement now houses a small exhibition space for cafe visitors to explore. Additionally, there is an outdoor terrace where guests can bring their pets, making it a popular spot beyond its TV fame. Since the cafe has maintained much of its original appearance from the drama, visitors can fully immerse themselves in its atmosphere.

The next spot is a well-known location from the drama “Run Away With Sunjae.” In Haenggung-dong, Suwon, the houses of the two main characters have been faithfully recreated. The heroine’s house, known as Sol’s House in the drama, now operates as a cafe called “Mongted.” At the entrance, a yellow umbrella—a symbolic prop from the drama—catches visitors' attention. Right across from it is the hero, Sunjae’s house, which is a private residence. Visitors should be mindful not to create excessive noise when passing by. Another notable TV drama location near by is ‘Hwahonmun Gate,’ which also appeared in “Run Away With Sunjae.” This location is especially popular among fans as it was where the hero confessed his love for the heroine.

Our final location to introduce is the bus stop where significant events took place in the drama “Twenty-Five Twenty-One.” This site is located near ‘Namporu Pavilion’ in Suwon Hwaseong and is also well-known among Suwon residents as a popular cherry blossom spot. Although the actual bus stop does not exist, several benches are placed along the road side, allowing visitors to enjoy this TV location in comfort. However, brace yourself to climb multiple uphill paths to reach this spot.

Haenggung-dong in Suwon is an attraction filled with many different TV drama locations, offering fans a unique and memorable experience. It provides a chance to step into iconic scenes and fully immerse yourself in the atmosphere of your favorite dramas, making it well worth a visit. As spring comes to an end in May, why not wrap up the season with a trip to Suwon’s famous TV drama locations?
