Wanting to discover a personal style that suits them and looks good is a common aspiration for many college students. For freshmen embarking on their college life, the excitement of wearing casual clothes instead of uniforms often comes with the worry, ‘What style should I go for?’ Finding and expressing one’s unique style can feel like a challenge. Therfore this Fashion section will introduce essential fashion items that every college student should have to help ease that concern.

 To determine which fashion items college students consider essential, Pharos conducted a survey. The results showed these top three items: 1st place - caps, 2nd place -shoulder bags, and 3rd place – headsets

 Let’s begin with the third-place item: headsets. Headsets are valuable tools for blocking out background noise in public spaces such as libraries and lecture halls. They are also popular for making commuting or relaxing more enjoyable through music. In addition to their practicality, headsets are available in various designs and colors, making them an excellent means of expressing individuality. Furthermore, they contribute to a sleek, stylish appearance, which is why they are loved as a key item for completing an outfit.

 Next is the second-place item: shoulder bags. For college students who need to carry items like textbooks, laptops, and stationery, a bag is indispensable. Among the various options, shoulder bags are particularly favored because you can sling them over your shoulder, making them convenient for mobility and comfortable to wear for long periods. Their versatile designs complement any outfit, and they are suitable for a wide range of situations-from casual outings to lectures and meetings-making them a highly practical item.

 Finally, the reason caps are ranked as the number one item is their practicality. Caps are beneficial for outdoor activities as they block sunlight and protect your hair from unexpected rain or wind. For busy college students, they are particularly useful for quickly covering up unstyled hair or a face without makeup, making them the top choice among essential fashion items.

 Through this survey, we explored essential fashion items that college students should consider having. In addition to caps, headsets, and shoulder bags, other popular items for expressing individuality include bracelets, rings, leg warmers, keychains, and tumblers. Fashion is more than just wearing clothes; it is a powerful tool for showcasing your unique style and identity. As indicated by the survey and interviews, using items that suit you can enhance the joy of self-expression. Why not try incorporating many different items to create a style that truly reflects your personality?
