Haenggung-dong craft street is called the Insa-dong of Suwon. It is a popular date spot because of its various food and beautiful cafes. Haenggung-dong craft street stretches about 420 meters from Hwaseong Fortress to Paldalmun. Many artists show their work on the street, so people can easily enjoy and purchase the artists’ works. This street was a main business district long ago. However, big markets and department stores were built near Suwon Station and Haenggungdong craft street was forgotten by people. In order to solve this problem, Suwon city tried to revive the street. They named the street “Haenggung-dong Craft Street” and encouraged people to visit. The charming and warm atmosphere of the craft shop brought excitement ahead of the one-day class. Inside the shop, there is a room where people can enjoy crafting programs. First, you must take your time choosing the scents of the candle. There are over 30 kinds of scents, and people can pick their own freely. After choosing the scents, cut the gel wax small enough to fit in a candle bottle. If you cut the wax naturally into ice-shaped pieces, you can beautifully decorate the candle.

 After cutting the transparent gel wax and putting it in the candle bottle, it’s decorating time. There are so many different kinds of decorative items that consumers can use to decorate to their own taste. Waxed accessories, dried flowers, fruits, clamshells, and pebbles make the candles colorful. One helpful tip is that it’s good to choose materials considering the color of the candle.
