Shinsegae Department Store, Gangnam Branch opened the largest dessert specialty zone, Sweet Park, on the 1 basement floor on February 15th. Sweet Park features 43 brands, including brands previously only available overseas and famous domestic brands from all over the country. When Pharos visited Sweet Park, the modern interior with checkered floors and shining lights stood out. Furthermore, there were many pretty desserts in the endless sparkling showcase. From the famous salted butter rolls bakery Beton in Seongsu-dong to the churros cafe Minute Papillon in Apgujeong Rodeo, it was enjoyable to see so many desserts from Korean dessert brands gathered in one place. If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail! It would help you choose if you first check what desserts are available before visiting. Shinsegae Department Store, Gangnam Branch, which surpassed 3 trillion won in transactions last year, is undergoing a food court renewal for the first time in 15 years. Sweet Park is the first zone of this renewal, and next year, the new food court will be completed and be the largest in Korea. Sweet Park can be seen as the first leap to develop Shinsegae Department Store, Gangnam Branch into a globally recognized culinary space that rivals the iconic food courts of world-renowned department stores.
