The Suwon campus of Kyonggi University covers a large area. There are seven restaurants on campus, which are quite a lot compared to other schools. In spite of the many restaurants on the university campus, freshmen don’t know much about them and are confused about where the restaurants are on campus. Therefore, the Pharos will introduce the restaurants’ locations so that new students can find them to among the lecture halls and buildings of the campus. In addition, the Pharos will inform readers about the advantages and disadvantages of each restaurant based on students’ comments.
There are seven restaurants at Kyonggi University. First, the dormitory restaurant is for dormitory students. However, everyone can use it. The most attractive characteristic is that the menu changes every day. Second, E-square is next to Building 4. E-square has a fixed menu (ramen and pork cutlet) and is not very big. Thus, you may have to queue up at lunchtime. Third, Sentimental Core is located behind Building 4. Sentimental Core also has a fixed menu (pork cutlet) and has a big area. However, because of the many users, you may have to queue up at lunchtime. Fourth, the cafeteria of the school personnel is in the Student’s Hall. The adventage of this cafeteria is that the menu changes every day. In addition, you can freely select the food’s quantity. With regard to E-square, Sentimental Core, and the cafeteria of school personnel, you can check each cafeteria’s diet through the Kyonggi University website. Fifth, Tomato Lunch Box is next to the cafeteria of the school personnel. Tomato Lunch Box has a fixed menu and offers relatively large portions that are simple to eat. Sixth, Oasis is near the main gate of the school. Because of the various food choices in Oasis, you can order and eat food according to your preference. Seventh, Plan B is in the Professors’ Research Building. Plan B is famous for pasta and hamburgers.
We have learned about the location and characteristics of each of the school restaurants. Then, what do students think about each school restaurant, and what are the specific merits and demerits of each one? The Pharos represented the survey results as a table.

Through this survey, we could get information about what students picked as the merits or demerits of the restaurant. Then, which school restaurant do students prefer the most and why?
The second survey asked students to choose the in most preferred place among the seven restaurants on the university campus. According to the results, it was E-square that was the most favored restaurant for students. The students said that E-square is located in the center of Kyonggi University, so it has good accessibility, and it also has reasonable prices. Moreover, E-square has both a fixed and a variable menu, which allow students to choose according to their personal preferences. Second, the most commonly visited restaurant by students was the cafeteria of the school personnel. The cafeteria of the school personnel has the strength of offering the most diverse menus among restaurant on the university campus because of the high rate of use by students and their practice of changing the menu every day. In the survey, students reported that E-square, the most popular restaurant on campus for students at Kyonggi University, and the cafeteria of the school personnel have two things in common: costeffectiveness and a daily changing menu. However, E-square is different from the cafeteria of the school personnel, where the menu is always different without there being a designated menu, in that it has good location accessibility and a fixed menu. Based on these common opinions, cost-effectiveness and the diversity of the menu seem to have the greatest influence on students when choosing a restaurant on the university campus.
Through the two surveys above, the Pharos searched for a variety of factors that Kyonggi University students consider when they are choosing a restaurant on campus. The purpose of this article is to help freshmen choose the restaurants that best fit their situation by examining the characteristics of the restaurants on campus. The results from the above surveys do not represent the opinions of all students at Kyonggi University, but the views expressed can be helpful in terms of information for freshmen who are still unfamiliar with the university and who do not know much about the restaurants on campus. At Kyonggi University, where there are seven different restaurnats on campus, why don’t freshmen experience them and have fun starting their own campus life?
