When university students these days take a rest, they usually do similar activities. The Pharos conducted survey about what activities Kyonggi University students do in their leisure time. Half of the respondents answered that they like “visiting a cafe because it’s easy to go there and I am able to spend time with friends.” The next most common answers were “watching movies,”(44%) and “visiting singing rooms”(38%). At this time when new types of activities keep coming up, why don’t you try some distinctive activities during your resting time? The Pharos, thus, introduces “Sport Monster” to recommend some new types of activities for students.

 Sports Monster, a complex sports center, is “a sports playground where fun is alive like a changeable, unpredictable monster.” It is a center established to try to enhance people’s health and further expand their sports options. To do this, Sports Monster is divided into four zones: the Basic Zone, the Exciting Zone, the Adventure Zone, and the Digital Zone. Each zone has its own color; yellow, green, red, and blue, respectively. Yellow represents cooperation; green, communication; red, passion; and blue, creation. Then, let’s take a closer look at each zone’s facilities.

The Basic Zone

 This zone is symbolic of cooperation and has space for team sports. Power courts and dynamic courts are available for the enjoyment of various sports. In there, you can play basketball, tennis, or badminton freely. In addition, you can experience sports that are not easily accessible, such as baseball, snookball, and archery. When you try archery, you can get hurt if you do something wrong. For this reason, five people gather together at a time to listen to the safety guard’s explanation and start together. Archery is a popular sport, so there may be some waiting time.

The Exciting Zone

 This zone is made up of a series of nests and other areas. It consists of a jumping nest, a shouting nest, and clay shooting area. In the jumping nest, you can jump high without restriction on a trampoline, while burning calories and exercising. Also, in the shouting nest and dancing nest, you can scream or dance as much as you want; it will relieve your stress. In clay shooting or LED shooting areas, be careful not to get hurt because the gun is a little heavy. Practicing once or twice will help you get used to it first. The Adventure Zone

 This zone is a space where you can enjoy extreme sports in earnest. It consists of a rope course, a zip-coaster, a climbing wall, and various other activities. For example, there are parabolic slides, which are large slides that person hangs and falls from at an 85-degree grade. However, you can select the height, so even a timid person can try it with courage. In addition, the rope course consists of trying to pass obstacles at a height of 6.5 meters, and the zip-coaster is a device that is attached to a zip line suspended in the air. Both experiences are safer and more enjoyable than they seem to be. They are done after the safety guard's full explanation and safety rules are followed.

The Digital Zone

 Since this zone represents creation, you can enjoy various sports through virtual experience and virtual reality(VR). There is a facility called Icaros in which you use VR to experience balancing yourself in a plank position.
