Learning Useful English Expressions with K-Pop Stars

 The K-Pop industry is expanding its scale due to growing interest around the world. Many K-Pop artists are performing on stages around the globe, appearing as guests on various TV shows, and attending international awards ceremonies. For these reasons, some K-Pop stars’ fluent English skills are attracting attention, so Pharos will introduce some useful English expressions used in interviews by three K-Pop stars.

• reach out to : ~에게 다가가다, ~와 접촉하다.

 ex) This organization reaches out to anyone in danger. 

• take A for granted : A를 당연한 일로 여기다, 대수롭지 않게 여기다.

 ex) Don’t take your parents’ care for granted.

• be aware of : ~을 알다, 인식하다.

 ex) You should always be aware of the risk of investment.

• settle down : 정착하다, 한 곳에 터를 잡다. 

 ex) I think Third Culture Kids might want to settle down in one country.

• all of a sudden : 갑자기, 별안간. 

 ex) Some people become livid all of a sudden.

 



 "There are many practical and natural conversational expressions found in the English interview videos with K-Pop stars. Watching these kinds of videos can help people learn English phrases naturally and also provide insight into the artists’ lives and values."
