Recently, the ‘G-station’ and ‘K-AGORA’ systems have opened on our campus. They intend to make campus life more convenient for students. ‘G-station’ is a food vending machine where students can get various types of food fast and conveniently. In addition, ‘K-AGORA’ is a system that lets students reserve a study room or meeting room and use those places freely whenever they want. However, there are lots of students who don’t know about them because students rarely come to school due to the pandemic. Both ‘G-station’ and ‘K-AGORA’ are made for Kyonggi University students. Therefore, it is very important that lots of Kyonggi University students take interest and actively use them. Let’s look at them in detail.

G-station is a food vending machine which lets students have lots of food cheaply and conveniently on campus. It is located on the first floor of the Student’s Hall on the Suwon campus and the fourth floor of the Student’s Hall on the Seoul campus. Students of both Suwon and Seoul campuses can use it freely. The way G-station is operated is as an unmanned store. Therefore, students are able to get safe foods whenever they want 24 hours a day. COVID-19 is becoming more serious again recently. Thus, visiting restaurants or cafes might make you feel uneasy. The way G-station is operated offers a great advantage in this situation. After the opening of G-station, the student council has been doing a survey about the student’s preferences. On the basis of this, they try to fill the G-station with various popular foods. Furthermore, lots of sale events have been held to let students enjoy several foods at a low cost. They offered a series of Kyonggido bibimbap, bulgogi chalba, a bowl of rice served with spicy CJ chicken and a series of products from Jejumon ade from June 7 to June 13. During this period, students were able to experience the fun of choosing and eating not only fresh but also delicious foods cheaply. G-station will give lots of convenience to Kyonggi University students who study on campus or don’t have enough time to have lunch when they have a face-to-faceclass.

K-AGORA coexists with learning and rest areas for students to use. It is available on the first floor of the Suwon Campus Theological Center. With a large rest area, soft chairs, and plenty of outlets, you can have enough rest during your spare time. There is also a learning space for individuals or study groups. You can use partitions to share your space, so you can concentrate on your studies without being disturbed. There are large conference rooms and small conference rooms for meetings. You can use the spaces after applying reservation at the student council room. When there are not enough conference places, it is possible to have a meeting in a pleasant environment. The conference rooms may be rented for up to three hours per group. K-AGORA is available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the semester and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. during vacation. The reality is that there are many concerns about the dangers of enclosed places due to COVID-19. The student council shall conduct quarantine for two days every week, emphasizing the importance of quarantine and disinfection. Students can expect K-AGORA to be a convenient space by providing students with an environment where they can relax, study and enjoy themselves.

Kyonggi University Students' Thoughts on G-station and K-AGORA.

Student 1: I have recently used K-AGORA. With the creation of K-AGORA, it was nice to have various spaces to study on campus. In addition, there were not only study spaces, but also conference rooms, computer spaces, and sofas, making it convenient to use them for visiting purposes. At G-station, it was good because it was easy to use when there was not enough time to eat, and in terms of price, it was a satisfactory use of the facility.

Student 2: I have never been to campus since returning to school due to COVID-19. I knew that it was newly established through Kakao-Talk, but I am sorry that I couldn't use it. When the COVID-19 situation improves and normal school life is possible, complex spaces such as K-AGORA are expected to add fun to studying not only in places where you can effectively spend your time between classes but also in a different environment from the usual library. Besides, I want to use G-station because it can be used during busy exam periods or a short time between classes.

Based on these students' opinions, students can look forward to feeling satisfied with the new facilities. Due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, there are not many students who use the new facilities yet because face-to-face classes are not available. There are also many students who don't know the locations of the facilities and how to use them. Through this opportunity, many Kyonggi University students may get a lot of information about school facilities and systems such as G-station and K-AGORA. The most important thing about school facilities is cleanliness and consideration. During future face-to-face classes, reckless use and irresponsible attitudes will have negative consequences for everyone. The rules of use of facilities must be observed, and the joint facilities must be recognized as belonging to all Kyonggi University students. They can be used more effectively if you get information through Everytime and Kakao-Talk before using the facilities.

For the convenience of students, we looked at the newly opened facilities, G-station and K-AGORA. These are spaces where students can use convenient restaurants at any time and relax and study freely, making it more convenient for students to study at school. In order to use these nice facilities for a long time, students’ etiquette is important as well as the effort of managers. Garbage generated after use must be disposed of by oneself. The space you use should be cleaned up so that the next person may use it. In a quiet space, you need manners regarding sound levels. Simple manners and consideration habits will be the driving force for Kyonggi University students to use their facilities as more convenient and beneficial spaces.
